I have been a musician in the Bay Area for over twenty years. Singing harmonies in various bands has given me the opportunity to perform on incredible stages including City Winery Napa, The Sweetwater Music Hall, The Independent, The Fillmore, Palace of Fine Arts, and more. Being a musician has also enabled me to keep my finger on the pulse of the dynamic local music scene firsthand.

 

In 2018, I became Marin Magazine's music blogger, which fused my passion for writing with supporting and promoting music I love the most. As a blogger, I’ve interviewed over thirty musicians, written articles about concerts, festivals, and the value of music education, and created a monthly column called "Emilie's Must-See's" that highlights my favorite shows in my most beloved venues.

 

Emilie's Must-See's is a passion project that has now expanded as its own entity to include the monthly column, articles, and interviews, as well as a vehicle for booking local shows. I hold a BA in Theater and an MFA in Creative Writing and also work as a music and theater teacher. When I’m not teaching, singing, or writing about music you'll most likely find me kayaking in Richardson Bay, trail running on Mt. Tam, or at a concert dancing in the front row with a big smile on my face!
